The Path to Learning

There are many pathways to learning — although some of them can look like an alley and not be noticed. Even so these pathways help students get to where they need to go. The metro bus represents the connection to other places outside the community and one of the ways students find their way to school. This is a neighborhood that cares about safety for its students and about having art that celebrates children and diversity. In this neighborhood, there are students who experience the joy of learning. This is represented by finger painting done by students. The photo of South Lake School behind the weeds shows that some things may seem bad are actually good. A lot is in how you look at it. The weeds are actually quite beautiful.

Sometimes people talk about the neighborhood as if it is bad — in reality it is a place where kids learn and are inspired and experience joy, peace, and diversity — once we open our eyes, we can see all the pathways.
