A Place Where Youth Has a Voice
This photo was taken on 7/19/11. A picture of a building, bike, grass, and windows. I want to share this photo because there are a lot of community meetings that happen in this building and most of them are about youth and we don’t usually attend them. A lot of decisions are being made about us w/o us around but we have a say about some of the decisions that are being made. I was one of those youth that didn’t attend those meetings but I started to attend them and I was surprised to see young people there speaking on behalf of the other youth in the community. This photo helps others learn because after attending those meeting we came up with a group to help young people speak up about the issues in their community and how they feel about the decisions that are being made about them.

KEEPING TEEN MOMS IN SCHOOL (ON SIGHT DAYCARE)
This photo was taken on 7/19/11. In this photo you see a door, building, reflection of me, dirt and grass. I want to share this photo because I want to encourage young moms that are in high school that just because you had a baby young doesn’t mean you cant finish school. This photo means a lot to me because before school got out last year I found out I was pregnant. This photo helps me and others because we can still come to school even though we  had a baby and that the staff at that school really wants us to be successful in life.

ALLOWS YOUTH TO GET TOGETHER AND TRY TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE
This photo was taken on 7/19/11. You are able to see a blue and white building, trash can grass and stones. I want to share this phone because it allows youth groups to meet and try to change things in their community. This represents s to me how I want to change things in my community also. This photo helps me learn because it lets me know that I’m not the only youth in my community that wants to see a CHANGE.

Not So Bad After All
This photo was taken on 7/19/11. This is a photo of a school. I want to share this photo because you hear a lot of bad things about this school but in reality it’s not as bad as people make it seem. This photo represents me because they have the same preception on youth. This photo helps others learn because this school offers a lot to the students that attend it.

School With Teachers That Care.
This photo was taken on 7/19/11. A picture of a school with the name. The reason why I want to share this photo is because at my school our teachers actually care about the students and they make sure we understand what we are learning and they give us one on one help. To me this photo means that more kids are likely to stay in school and be focused and that the teachers really care about the students. How this photo helps me and others learn and be successful  is how teachers actually want to see us graduate because if we have teachers that don’t care or that don’t push us we seem to give up.

Where Youth Can Show Their Talent
This photo was taken on 7/19/11. A picture of  a circle with poles and a building behind it. I want to share this photo because a lot of talent can be shown there if we put something together for the youth to show their talent. This photo represents me because my youth group actually put a bbq together for the youth to come out and express how they feel and show some of their talent to us. This photo says that even though some kids are in gangs and are on the street they are really talented and are willing to speak up if they trust the people out there and you can really learn a lot from them.
