He and I was in a cool workshop together and he remembered he and his sister meeting me a few years ago when I visited their school. Weeks after the workshop I called Demitrus and suggested he come to the Rainier Vista Boys and Girls Club and sign up for the various teen programs, which included finding employment. I suggested he apply for the KUOW Radio Active Program Internship. I already knew Demitrus was a great writer with more than a dozen full journals. I have continued to mentor Demitrus, checking on him to make sure he keep on track of making his dreams come true. I am also very thankful for all the work KUOW is doing with our young folks to give them the opportunity to learn something new and trust that the teens will be successful.
