Jessie Bolton

20130912_181307I interviewed Jessie Bolton.  She is my grandma and I interviewed her because I knew I could get a lot of good history and memories from her , since she was born in 1946 .

What was something you were afraid of as a child ?

Not being able to have food on the table.  As a kid it was hard for my parents to find jobs and there was 11 of us, so as the oldest I had to start working.

What is something embarrassing that has happened to you?

I was downtown and I had slipped going downhill. And I just kept sliding down.

What is something difficult that you had to do?

Kick my grandson out,  because he’s too old and has never had a job.  And it was time to stop being nice.

What is something that helped you shape your idea of life?

My mom always told me to count on no one, and to never give up.

Are things working out how you expected?

No, because times are beginning to get hard and it’s hard to stay up on my mortgage. It’s becoming a struggle .
